Pollarding
Pollarding is a severe tree pruning technique that involves lopping off most of a tree’s branches where they meet the trunk. It is done to ensure that a tree does not grow any further than the desired height and size, usually where there is little space in its environment. After a tree has been pollarded the tree is given some time to re-grow, after which the process may be repeated.
Deadwood Removal
This process is completed to prevent any issues with falling debris and is therefore normally completed in high risk areas such as over roads/footpaths, in gardens or in public locations. It involves climbing around the entire canopy of a tree to remove dead branches that will degrade and eventually fall. It may be completed to different specifications such as large pieces only.
